Asia trades mixed as yen falls
Markets in Asia traded mixed on Tuesday, while the yen slipped against the dollar even as the US currency lost ground against other major currencies.
Japanese Nikkei 225 fell 0.29% at 6:28 am CET. The greenback strengthened 0.21% against the yen, to go for ¥112.78 at 6:48 am CET. The dollar index spot was 0.11% lower, at 100.24 at the same time.
China’s Shanghai Composite gained 0.17% at 6:50 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite increased 0.21% at the same time. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.35% at 6:51 am CET.
South Korean Kospi Composite jumped 1.03% at 6:32 am CET.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.07% in the red, dragged by its materials sub-index.
