Elon Musk reveals plans for his third company Neuralink
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX, on Thursday revealed plans for his latest company, called Neuralink, adding another business to his portfolio.
Neuralink will attempt to create and implant small brain electrodes that would first be used in the medical field, but which would later help merge computers with human brains. This would enable people to one day engage in “conceptual telepathy.” Musk described the technology as one that would effectively replace human language as we know it.
Musk plans to serve as the CEO of the new venture. He said, “If you have two brain interfaces, you could actually do an uncompressed direct conceptual communication with another person.” He was excited to enable people to project a picture into the heads of others instead of trying to describe it with words.
