Europe mostly higher on OPEC deal hopes
Most European markets began Wednesday's trade in the green as investors kept an eye on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) meeting hoping the cartel will reach an agreement on cutting oil production.
The CAC 40 increased 0.28% at 9:09 a.m. CET.
The DAX rose 0.31% at 9:07 a.m. CET. Linde led the gains as it soared 6.70% at 9:07 a.m. CET.
The FTSE 100 edged down 0.05% at 9:00 a.m. CET. The Royal Bank of Scotland's shares shed 2.23% at 9:14 a.m. CET after the lender failed the Bank of England stress test.
The pound fell 0.10% against the dollar to go for 1.2481 at 9:11 a.m. CET. Sterling was up 0.12% against the euro to sell for 1.1751 at 9:12 a.m. CET and it rose 0.30% compared to the yen to change hands for 140.850 at 9:13 a.m. CET.
