Europe opens mixed
Stocks across Europe opened mixed on Friday as investors digested this week's earnings releases and continuing tensions after yesterday's shooting in Paris when one policeman was killed and two were injured. This happened just a few days before French presidential election.
German DAX was flat at 9:12 am CET. The best performer was ThyssenKrupp rising 1.51% at 9:20 am CET.
The CAC 40 decreased 0.4% at 9:12 am CET with Danone falling 1.32% at 9:07 am CET. The French corporation reported its first quarter earnings and upgraded its 2017 guidance.
In London, the FTSE 100 gained 0.16% at 9:12 am CET. Marks and Spencer increased 3.45% at 9:08 am CET despite saying that it will close six stores.
The euro added 0.15% against the dollar, buying 1.0733 at 9:28 am CET. At the same time, sterling traded flat against the greenback, changing hands for 1.2815.
