European markets open higher ahead of Carney speech

European equities opened higher on Tuesday ahead of Bank of England Governor Mark Carney's speech and economic data releases which are due later today.

The DAX grew 0.44% at 9:05 am CET with ProSiebenSat.1 leading the gains by rising 2% after reports it will sell online travel agency Etraveli to CVC for $508 million.

The CAC 40 advanced 0.51% at 9:05 am CET pulled up by the banking sector. The best performer was Societe Generale increasing 1%. BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole followed adding 0.76% and 0.64%, respectively. 

The FTSE 100 was flat at 9:05 am CET. The euro traded flat against the dollar, buying 1.115 at 9:06 am CET.
