Eurozone current account at surplus of €37.9 bn
The European Central Bank said in a press release on Friday that the Eurozone's current account recorded a surplus of 37.9 billion in February. The highest surplus was for goods and it stood at €29.5 billion. The surpluses for services and primary income were €9.5 billion and €4.2 billion, respectively. This was "partly offset by a deficit for secondary income of €5.4 billion."
The cumulated current account for the twelve months through February was at a surplus of €360.2 billion and this represents 3.4% of the euro area's gross domestic product.
