Macron calls for two state solution to M. East crisis

French President Emmanuel Macron has called for new Israeli-Palestinian peace talks to create two independent states, AP reported on Sunday.

After meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Macron said that everything should be done so that negotiations could restart with the aim of reaching a two state solution. Maron’s office said in a statement that French president is worried that Netanyahu is backing away from the commitment to a two-state solution.

Two leaders also discussed fighting extremism and improving economic cooperation.
