Europe settles higher after Trump’s comments

European equities closed mostly in the green on Wednesday as investors digested President-elect Donald Trump’s remarks from the first press conference.

The DAX rose 0.54%. The best performer was E.ON, jumping 4.85% after dismissing yesterday a suggestion from one of its shareholders to spin off its power distribution business.

The CAC 40 finished that trading day flat. Peugeot increased 3.38%.

Britain’s FTSE 100 gained 0.21% and reached another record high today following an earlier report that industrial production in the United Kingdom increased by 2% in November compared to the previous month.
