Asian markets higher as investors await Brexit talks

Markets in Asia traded higher on Monday as investors exercised caution ahead of Brexit negotiations between the UK and the EU.

Japanese Nikkei 225 gained 0.58% at 6:55 am CET. The dollar strengthened 0.07% against the yen, to go for 110.94 at 7:15 am CET. The latest government data showed exports from Japan rose 14.9% on year.

China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.69% at 7:15 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite increased 0.41% at the same time. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng jumped 0.93% at 7:16 am CET.

South Korean Kospi Composite climbed 0.31% at 6:57 am CET as South Korean tech stocks trended higher.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 traded 0.26% in the green at 7:17 am CET on strength from its utilities and financials sub-indexes.
