Putin arrives in Berlin for Donbass talks
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Berlin on Wednesday to participate in the talks over the Ukrainian crisis along with Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel and Ukrainian and French Presidents Petro Poroshenko and Francois Hollande, TASS reported. The talks have started and are currently being held at Merkel’s office.
The Normandy summit concerning the Donbass region crisis was created two years ago in order to peacefully resolve the warring sides in Eastern Ukraine. The previously imposed Minsk agreement on a ceasefire regime has been broken in the beginning of 2015. All four parties are now trying to reach a new resolution on the crisis.
The final decision to hold the talks today was only finally confirmed yesterday.
