Top Dem: Trump is wrong on Russia interference
A top Democrat in the United States House of Representatives responded on Monday to President Donald Trump, saying his party did not make up that Russia interfered in the 2016 US elections.
Adam Schiff (pictured), who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, tweeted: Mr. President, the Russians hacked our election and interfered. No one disputes this now, but you. This is what is called "fact". As you will see during our hearing, Mr. President, there is no evidence Mr. Obama tapped your phones. This is what is called "fiction." Your suggestion British wiretapped you & jape with Merkel are harming our relationships with key allies. This is called "collateral damage." The intelligence community concluded the Russians will interfere again. This is why full investigation is important to country. Please stop.”
Schiff used the condoning tone to defend his party after Trump stated that the Democrats used fake news on his alleged Russia ties to hide their terrible election campaign.
Last November, all major media outlets predicted Hillary Clinton would win the presidency but Donald Trump took the victory instead as the Clinton campaign suffered from the Clinton email scandal and the DNC leaks.
