Trump picks Mnuchin for Treasury secretary
U.S. president-elect Donald Trump is expected to name Steven Mnuchin as Treasury secretary, the New York Times reported on Wednesday.
Mnuchin, 53 years of age, started his career at Goldman Sachs, and proceeded to become a partner there, before creating his own hedge fund and financing popular Hollywood films. He has no previous government experience. He served as the national finance chairman for Trump’s campaign.
The Republican candidate’s presidential election campaign released an ad portraying the CEO of Goldman Sachs as a symbol of the global elite, and proclaiming that the aforementioned elite “robbed" the "working class.”
