Trump won't 'let Canada take advantage' of US
United States President Donald Trump accused Canada on Thursday of putting American dairy farmers in Wisconsin and New York "out of work." He claimed what Canada did to US dairy farmers is a "disgrace."
The president reiterated his stance that the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is a "trading disaster" for the US and benefits Canada and Mexico. Trump promised to announce within the next couple of weeks what he intends to "do about" NAFTA.
"We can't let Canada or anybody else take advantage and do what they did to our workers and to our farmers," Trump stated. He pointed out that besides dairy farmers, Canada hurt workers in the US states near the Canadian border when it comes to lumber, timber and energy trade, as well.
