Wall Street opens mixed
Main equity indexes in the United States opened mixed on Tuesday amid a sharp decline in oil prices, and as investors parsed economic data released earlier today.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 0.03% at 3:43 p.m. CET. Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. dropped 2.09% after news emerged its director Joshua Borger sold 6,500 shares of the company last week.
The Nasdaq 100 added 0.15% at 3:44 p.m. CET, as Netflix Inc. gained 1.39% at the same time after TiVo Corp., a digital video recorder developer, announced it will integrate the streaming giant into its set-top boxes.
The S&P 500 skidded 0.05% at 3:47 p.m. CET, with Delphi Automotive plc leading the decliners with losses of 5.29%.
The U.S. dollar index edged up 0.18% to 101.36 at 3:50 p.m. CET.
