Wall Street set to open higher as OPEC nears deal
United States index futures pointed to a higher open on Wednesday as oil prices surged on reports that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is close to reaching a deal on cutting production.
The Dow Jones was seen 0.20% higher, the Nasdaq was set to gain 0.09% and the S&P 500 was expected to increase 0.26%.
The dollar index rose 0.22% to 101.17 at 1:36 p.m. CET.
WTI for January delivery jumped 7.23% to sell for $48.55 per barrel at 1:25 p.m. CET. Brent crude soared 7.98% to go for $50.04 per barrel at 1:26 p.m. CET, after hitting a daily high of $50.45 per barrel.
