WikiLeaks uploads hack handbook for smart TVs
A user guide published online on Friday by WikiLeaks contains instructions on how to breach Samsung F Series Smart TVs. The Weeping Angel tool has been identified by the network on March 7 in leaked documents which indicated the United States Central Intelligence Agency has a "global covert hacking program" that utilizes cracks in Android, iOS, Windows and Samsung systems.
The implant defined in the handbook is based on malware from the British Security Service (MI5), which was shared with the CIA, WikiLeaks said. Part of the wider release called Vault-7, it records sound from the built-in microphone and sends out or stores data. "Both agencies collaborated on the further development of the malware and coordinated their work in joint development workshops," the statement adds.
