5.5-magnitude earthquake shakes Costa Rica
A 5.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of Costa Rica on Monday local time, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
It struck at a depth of about 40 kilometers with an epicenter some 54 kilometers south of the city of San Jose, which is home to over 335 thousand people. The quake was also just 4 kilometers northwest of the town of Quepos, with a population of 7,800.
