5.6-magnitude tremor strikes Russia

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 hit the Caucasus region in Russia on Thursday, European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.

The tremor's epicenter was registered 15 kilometers from the Russian region of Gunib and 80 kilometers away from the capital of Dagestan, Makhachkala, striking at a depth of 40 kilometers, according to EMSC.

There were no reports of casualties or damage. The earthquake was also felt in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
