6.6-magnitude quake strikes Western Australia

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 hit Western Australia on Sunday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake's epicenter was registered 202 kilometers west of the beach resort of Broome at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of potential damage or casualties. The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre noted there is no threat of a tsunami following the tremor.
