6 injured in Manchester as car rams into crowd

Six people were injured by a car which rammed into a crowd of people in Manchester, United Kingdom, local media reported on Monday. The accident happened close to the Harpurhey shopping center in the north of the city. Emergency services are at the scene and the five of the injured have been hospitalized, the North West Ambulance Service said.

The incident is not terror-related, the police have confirmed.

"An 80-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Inquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing," Greater Manchester Police stated.
