Castex unveils France's €100 billion stimulus plan

French Prime Minister Jean Castex revealed on Thursday the government has approved a new set of economic measures worth €100 billion to combat the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to French newspaper Le Figaro, Castex explained €30 billion will be spent on "accelerating the greening of the economy," €35 billion on the competitiveness of companies, and €35 billion on "social and territorial cohesion."

Castex previously said the new economic package must not put a burden on public finances and called for the consolidation of the economy through the transformation of "ways of producing, administering, and governing."
