Downing St.: No-deal Brexit still most likely outcome

A no-deal Brexit remains the "most likely" outcome despite comments from Brussels that an agreement is still possible, a Downing Street spokesman said on Thursday.

"An Australia, World Trade Organization exit remains the most likely outcome which is why we are planning for that eventuality but we remain committed to trying to reach a free trade agreement if possible," Number 10 said.

Earlier, the European Union's Chief Brexit Negotiator Michael Barnier reportedly said he believes that London and Brussels may find an agreement on the two sides' post-Brexit trade relations by Friday, while the European parliament said that a deal must be reached by midnight on Sunday in order to hold a vote on it this year.
