German GDP grows record 8.5% in Q3
The German economy grew by a record 8.5% in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter as the country benefited from the easing of coronavirus containment measures, according to a report released by the Federal Statistical Office on Tuesday.
However, compared to the same three-month period a year earlier, Europe's largest economy was still 4% lower.
Household consumption expenditure surged 10.8% in the third quarter of 2020, while trade figures also markedly improved.
