ISM: US non-manufacturing PMI rises to 57.1 in June

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) announced on Monday that its non-manufacturing activity Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) stood at 57.1% in June, rising from 45.4% recorded in the previous month.

The new orders jumped to 66% in June, while the employment index surged by 11.3 points month on month to 43.1%. At the same time, the business activity index gained 25 points to stand at 66% in June. Meanwhile, supplier deliveries declined by 9.5 points from the previous month to 57.5%.

ISM concluded that the US economy is showing a growing trend overall, which shows positive sentiment compared to the previous month's contraction.
