Munich court rules: Tesla's autopilot ads 'misleading'

A court in Munich ruled on Tuesday that Tesla Inc. used "misleading" language in its advertisements in Germany regarding autonomous driving and autopilot.

A German market watchdog accused Tesla of using phrases that suggest to customers that the automaker's autopilot system for urban driving will be available by the end of 2019. As the US carmaker failed to deliver, the ad has been labeled as "misleading."

Tesla will have to remove from its German website all mentions of "autonomous driving system" or the term "autopilot." Tesla's stocks dipped by 2.14% at 10:11 am ET, going for $1,466.00.
