Oil declines as coronavirus worries increase

Prices of crude went down by nearly 1% on Thursday following Wednesday's rally as investors fears over containing the coronavirus pandemic and the global economic recovery from the COVID-caused crisis climb.

The number of confirmed infections with the virus surpassed 30 million worldwide with India registering 97,894 daily cases, the highest number of people tested positive for coronavirus on a daily basis in any country across the globe.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in October slid 0.62% at 4:09 am ET to sell for $39.91 per barrel. Brent for deliveries in November decreased by 0.47% at 4:11 am ET, trading for $42.02 per barrel.
