Abbott's Q4 revenue up by 7.2% to $11.5B

Abbott Laboratories published on Wednesday that its revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021 came in at $11.5 billion, an increase of 7.2% compared to the same period of 2020 and above expectations. The company's diluted earnings per share (EPS) went up to $1.32. On a year-over-year basis, revenues increased 24.5%, and adjusted diluted EPS from continuing operations came in at $5.21, 42.7% over the previous year.

"We achieved more than 40 percent EPS growth, exceeding the baseline EPS guidance we set at the beginning of last year and, importantly, continued to advance our new product pipeline across the portfolio," stated Robert B. Ford, chairman, and CEO.

Abbott's stocks lost 0.62% ahead of today's session following the announcement to trade at $122.50 per share.
