After Bannon, House to vote on Clark's contempt charge

The House of Representatives' January 6 Select Committee, handling the Capitol riot probe, announced on Monday it will vote to hold Jeffrey Clark (pictured center), a Trump-administration senior Justice Department official, in contempt of Congress.

The decision follows the subpoena the committee issued to Clark on October 14. Another aide to former United States President Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, was previously found in contempt of Congress. He pleaded not guilty.

Successful prosecution in both Bannon's and Clarke's cases could result in a one-year prison sentence or a $100,000 fine.
