Airbus halts production in US, Germany factories

Airbus SE announced on Monday that production suspension will be extended in its plants in the United States and Germany over the concerns caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Factory activity in Bremen will be discontinued from April 6 until April 27, while the production in Stade plant will be halted from April 5 to April 11. "Key business support services" will "remain active" in both factories in Germany, Airbus noted. Output in its "A220/A320 manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama" will be paused from this week to April 29, the aerospace corporation specified.

"Airbus is supporting efforts globally to tackle the COVID-19 crisis and has carried out extensive work in coordination with social partners to ensure the health and safety of its employees," the company underscored.
