All adults in England to be eligible for COVID jab by end of week

Chief Executive of National Health Service (NHS) England Sir Simon Stevens stated on Tuesday that all adults in England should be able to book their coronavirus vaccine appointments by the end of the week.

Stevens made the comments at the NHS Confederation annual conference, where he also said that the NHS plans to "finish the job" when it comes to the vaccine rollout as much as possible ahead of the new July 19 reopening date. Additionally, he noted that the NHS estimates that roughly two-thirds of all adults in the United Kingdom will either be fully vaccinated or been offered a second shot of the vaccine.

Earlier today, Michael Gove asserted that the government will "certainly" reopen on the pushed-back date of July 19, as Downing Street urged people to get vaccinated amid studies that showed that fully vaccinated people are more than 90% protected against the Delta variant.
