All Americans aged 16 and over eligible for virus jab - CDC

United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky confirmed on Monday the report all the country's citizens aged 16 and over are now eligible for vaccines against COVID-19.

Walensky stated President Joe Biden's administration managed to distribute over 209 million doses of jabs in the first 100 days of his tenure, which is approximately 96% of its initial goal. She added the authorities are administering more than 3 million doses daily and praised them for having inoculated over 131 million people with at least one shot, and over 84 million with both doses.

Walensky stressed all the vaccines available in the country are offering "protection against all variants circulating in the US." Still, she warned about the increasing number of new infections and hospitalizations and urged the public to keep respecting pending restrictions.
