Amazon Japan suspends Huawei sales

Amazon Japan suspended sales of Huawei Technologies devices on its website as of Friday, listing the tech giant's devices sold directly by Amazon out of stock, Nikkei Asian Review reported. Third party sellers are still able to sell Huawei through United States e-commerce giant's store. Additionally, no new supplies of Huawei's products are expected at this time.

According to the report, Amazon stated that it doesn't want its customers to experience any issues with the products bought on its website after the ban imposed by the US Commerce Department and following Google's decision to cut off Huawei from its key apps and security features on Android. Meanwhile, another major Japanese online retailer Rakuten still has Huawei available in its store.

The news comes after a number of mobile carriers, including Japanese SoftBank and KDDI and British Vodafone, decided to halt Huawei orders. Also, major chip makers like Panasonic and Toshiba temporarily suspended shipments to Huawei in order to comply with Washington's ban.
