4 cops shot in St. Louis as protests rage on US streets

St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department revealed on Monday four police officers have been shot in the city during the protests, but are conscious and breathing as their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

"We have had 4 officers struck by gunfire tonight. All have been transported to an area hospital. All are conscious and breathing. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. Officers are still taking gunfire downtown and we will share more info as it is available," the department wrote on Twitter.

Shortly before the shooting, media reports suggested police deployed multiple rounds of tear gas and flashbangs against protestors downtown.
