Annual inflation in Turkey up by 2.59 pp to 61.53% in September

The annual inflation in Turkey clocked in at 61.53% in September, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced in a report released on Tuesday. The figure was up 2.59 percentage points from the last month's reading, but came in slightly below analysts' expectations.

The largest annual growth of inflation was registered in the category of hotels, cafes, and restaurants, with prices surging by 92.48% compared to the same month in the previous year. Housing recorded the smallest growth again in September, where prices rose 20.16% on an annual basis.

Month on month, consumer prices in September jumped 4.75%. Meanwhile, producer prices in September shot up 47.44% year over year, while the reading was up 3.40% in comparison to August.
