Apple gets reprieve for ten components from China

The office of the United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and the Federal Register revealed the government has granted exemptions to Apple Inc. from import tariffs for ten items it imports from China. The company had requested reprieve for 15 products it uses for Mac Pros and other devices it assembles domestically.

Partially completed circuit boards, a power supply and a logic board are among the components that got a green light, while the remaining five are still in the process. The iPhone maker is even poised to get a refund for tariffs since September of last year, when the first package of levies was introduced, for goods worth $200 billion per year.

President Donald Trump earlier said there would be no relief. Apple's parts are part of the simultaneous exceptions for over four hundred items approved at the same time.
