Apple reveals rejecting 1M apps in 2020 amid Epic Games case

Apple announced on Tuesday that in 2020 the App Store review team declined nearly 1 million "problematic" new apps and an additional 1 million new app updates in order to protect Apple users from fraud, spam and privacy violations.

The iPhone maker also claimed to have stopped over $1.5 billion in potentially fraudulent transactions in 2020 by preventing theft of money and data and suspending the operations of more than 3 million stolen credit cards and 1 million malicious accounts.

The announcement comes amid an ongoing antitrust court case against Epic Games, which is accusing the App Store of being a "walled garden" and is demanding that Apple allows the computer game company to set up its own app store on the devices, bypassing App Store's 30% fee on user purchases.
