Asia-Pacific markets in red amid coronavirus crisis

Major stock markets in Asia continued trading below the flatline on Friday as the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic continues to weigh heavily on investor sentiment.

In Mainland China, Shanghai Composite lost 1.94% at 07:22 am CET while the Shenzhen Composite tumbled 2.52% a minute later. At the same time, Hong Kong's Hang Seng slid 5.67%.

In Tokyo, Nikkei 225 was down 1.00% at 07:22 am CET. The dollar was 0.17% lower against the yen at 07:22 am CET, buying ¥107.4280.

In South Korea, the Kospi Composite fell 1.54% at 07:04 am CET, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 surrendered 0.99% at 07:24 am CET.
