Asia-Pacific rallies on upbeat US inflation data

Major stock markets in Asia-Pacific traded higher on Thursday, following the Wall Street rally prompted by a better-than-expected inflation report, which showed that the July figure fell to 8.5% from the previous month's 9.1%.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite grew 0.39% at 4:17 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite added 0.22% at 4:22 am CET. At 4:24 am CET, South Korea's Kospi Composite surged 1.42%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 1.26% at the same time.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 climbed 0.84% at 4:24 am CET. Japan's Nikkei 225 did not trade today, due to a national holiday. The dollar traded 0.20% higher against the yen at 4:25 am CET, selling for 133.16650.
