Asia trades higher after Wall Street recovery

Stock indexes in Asia traded higher on Thursday following the strong rebound in markets in the United States. The recovery came as the Bank of England decided to intervene and steady market conditions after the government announced an expensive tax cut package, spooking investors and tanking the pound.

The Nikkei 225 added 0.25% at 4:35 am CET, while the Kospi Composite was up by 0.98% at 4:45 am CET, and the S&P/ASX 200 jumped 1.63%. Hang Seng gained 1.18% a minute later, the Shanghai Composite rose by 0.56% and the Shenzhen Composite improved by 0.85%.

The dollar traded 0.11% higher compared to the yen, going for 144.3140 at 4:47 am CET.
