Asia trades higher amid geopolitical unease

Asian stock markets traded higher on Friday after the United States announced its navy shot down an Iranian drone which approached one of its ships. Iran has so far not confirmed the incident occurred. Meanwhile, Japan's inflation stood at 0.7% in June on a yearly basis, according to the latest report.

The Nikkei 225 climbed 1.71% at 4:26 am CET, while the South Korean Kospi Composite added 0.97% at 4:06 am CET.

In China, the Shanghai Composite jumped 1.11% at 4:26 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite increased by 1.16% at 4:28 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose by 0.99% at 4:28 am CET.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 went up by 0.80% at 4:29 am CET.

The dollar traded 0.23% higher against the yen, to go for ¥107.5385 at 4:29 am CET.
