Asia trades mixed after Japan's CPI report

Stock markets in Asia traded mixed following the release of the July inflation report for Japan, which showed the country recorded the highest core CPI growth since 2015. Meanwhile, North Korea slammed South Korea's plan for Pyongyang's denuclearization.

The Nikkei 225 was up by 0.09% at 4:35 am CET, as Hang Seng gained 0.25% at 4:49 am CET and the S&P/ASX 200 improved 0.08%. Meanwhile, the Kospi Composite lost 0.14% at 4:50 am CET, the Shanghai Composite dropped 0.22%, and the Shenzhen Composite declined by 0.84% at 4:51 am CET.

The dollar traded 0.18% higher against the yen at 4:51 am CET, going for 136.129.
