Asian stocks higher on trade optimism

Stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region increased on Friday, boosted by positive statements the United States and Chinese officials made regarding trade. US President Donald Trump stated the negotiations with Beijing were going "very well", while China's Vice Premier Liu He said his country was willing to cooperate on the trade balance, market access, and investor protection.

In Mainland China, the Shanghai Composite was 0.68% higher at 7:36 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite gained 0.23% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged 2.53% at 7:37 am CET.

Japanese Nikkei 225 rose 1.11% at 7:36 am CET. The dollar was flat against the yen, to go for ¥107.9865 at 7:36 am CET.

South Korean Kospi Composite jumped 1.17% at 7:19 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 increased 0.86% 7:29 am CET.
