Asian stocks rise ahead of Australia's rate decision

Stock market indexes in Asia delivered a higher performance Tuesday as investors digested weaker Japan inflation data for the nation's capital, while also looking ahead to a crucial interest rate decision from the Reserve Bank of Australia, slated for 5:30 am CET.

South Korea's Kospi Composite increased by 2.14% at 4:35 am CET. At the same time, Japan's Nikkei 225 inched 0.82% higher, with the dollar adding 0.23% against the yen to go for ¥144.8870 a minute later. At 4:38 am CET, Australian S&P 200 added 2.40%.

Markets in Hong Kong and in mainland China are closed on Tuesday for a national holiday.
