Australia eases int'l travel rules for citizens

Australia lifted some of its restrictions on international travel, making it possible for fully vaccinated citizens to travel to the country without any quarantine requirements.

This marks the first time in 18 months that the country eased its strict international border policy, implemented as a result of the pandemic, and is currently only applicable to citizens, permanent residents, and their immediate families.

At the same time, the country's medicines regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), recognized two more vaccines for the purposes of travel and other restrictions, on top of the already approved ones. Those are India's Covaxin and China's Sinopharm, which means that those that are fully vaccinated with those vaccines are also exempt from coronavirus restrictions in the country.
