Azerbaijan submits peace treaty draft to Armenia
Azerbaijani Presidential Representative for Special Assignments Elchin Amirbayov stated on Thursday that Baku handed over the draft peace agreement to Yerevan, adding that the negotiations currently taking place in Yevlakh could lead to a definitive peace treaty.
Additionally, Azerbaijan's presidential envoy Elchin Amirbekov told Sky News Arabia that the conflicting parties discussed the integration of Armenians in Karabakh. He also revealed that the treaty should contain five main points in line with international law, the most important of which is the point that bans both countries from interfering in each other's internal affairs.
A day earlier, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry announced that a ceasefire agreement was reached and that it would suspend what it described as an anti-terrorist operation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
