Belarus could accept Russia's nuclear weapons
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday that he could agree to allow Russia to store strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. Lukashenko has already accepted Russian tactical nuclear weapons.
"We will preserve sovereignty and independence by all means possible, including with a nuclear arsenal," Lukashenko said. He added that Belarusian law enforcement agencies are "ready for the most undesirable scenarios," claiming that the West is preparing a coup in the country in order to "destroy" it.
