Belarusian police arrests opposition protesters

Belarusian police arrested on Saturday twelve people who were protesting in central Minsk against current President Alexander Lukashenko.

The protests across Belarus are going on for a month after Lukashenko claimed a landslide victory in the presidential election, widely believed to have been rigged.

Belarus opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said earlier that people arrested amid protests against the head of state have disappeared and are likely held as political prisoners.
