Biden announces WH science team nominees

United States President-elect Joe Biden announced on Saturday nominees for the next White House science team, tapping Eric Lander to serve as the director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).

Meanwhile, Biden nominated Alondra Nelson for the OSTP deputy director, while Maria Zuber and Frances Arnold are set to become co-chairs of the president's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The president-elect selected Francis Collins to lead the National Institutes of Health, Kei Koizumi was nominated for the OSTP chief of staff, while he picked Narda Jones for the OSTP Legislative Affairs' director.

Speaking at the announcement event, Biden asserted the "science will always be at the forefront of his administration," adding he "will ensure everything we do is grounded in science, facts and the truth."
