Biden commends McCarthy for budget deal
United States President Joe Biden commended House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy and other US congressional leaders for reaching the budget and debt limit agreement.
Voting that took place earlier week in Congress was "far more bipartisan" than expected as both sides worked in "good faith" and "kept their word," according to the US president.
"No one got everything they wanted but the American people got what they needed. We averted an economic crisis and an economic collapse," Biden underscored in a speech at the White House.
