Biden confirms Deese will leave WH
United States National Economic Council Director Brian Deese is set to step down from the post, US President Joe Biden confirmed on Thursday.
Deese "has helped steer my economic vision into reality, and managed the transition of our historic economic recovery to steady and stable growth" and "was critical to the passage of the most significant economic agenda in generations," Biden praised his top economic adviser in a statement.
Among the main candidates to replace Deese are Federal Reserve Vice Chair Lael Brainard, Deputy Treasury Secretary Adewale Adeyemo and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, according to earlier media reports.
